Nail jewels are a fun way to dress up your nails, and they come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and colors. If you want to add some bling to your nails but don’t know how to apply them like a pro, don’t worry! We’re here to help. So whether you’re using rhinestones, studs, or other embellishments, follow these tips and you’ll have beautiful nails in no time!
1. Choose the right size and shape for your nails.
Nail jewels come in all sorts of sizes and shapes, so it’s important to choose the ones that will look best on your nails. If you have small nails, opt for smaller jewels. And if you have wide or almond-shaped nails, go for larger jewels.
When it comes to shape, you can choose round, oval, or teardrop-shaped jewels. The length must be long enough so you can place them on the nail without them falling off. For example, if your nail is 1 inch long, the jewel should be at least 1/4 inch long.
And finally, make sure the jewels you choose complement the color of your nails. If you’re going for a subtle look, pick jewels in similar hues as your nail polish. But if you want to make a statement, go for contrasting colors.
2. Decide where you want to place the jewel.
Before you start glueing jewels to your nails, it’s a good idea to decide exactly where you want to place them. This will help you avoid any mistakes and ensure that your nails look symmetrical and balanced.
If you’re using rhinestones, we recommend placing them in the center of each nail. But if you’re using studs or other embellishments, feel free to get creative! You can place them randomly on your nails or create patterns or designs.
In case you do make a mistake, don’t worry! You can always remove the jewel and try again. Just be careful not to rip off any of your nail polish in the process.
3. Pick the right jewels.
Now that you know what to look for in terms of size and shape, it’s time to pick the right jewels. The best way to do this is to browse through different nail jewel collections and see which ones catch your eye.
Once you’ve found a few favorites, it’s time to buy them. You can find nail jewels at most beauty supply stores or online. Make sure to buy high-quality jewels so they last longer and don’t damage your nails.
Also, choose jewels that compliment your nail design. If you’re going for a glamorous look, pick glitzy jewels. If you want something more subtle, then opt for dainty jewels.
4. Prepare your nails.
Before you start applying the jewels, make sure your nails are clean and free of any polish or oils. If your nails are oily, the jewels won’t stick as well. You can use a mild soap and water to clean your nails, or you can use a nail polish remover.
Once your nails are clean, file them into the shape you want. Then, push back your cuticles and apply a base coat of polish. Let the base coat dry completely before applying the jewels.
This step is important because it will help the jewels last longer on your nails and prevent jewellery from fall off.
5. Apply a thin layer of nail glue.
Use a small brush or toothpick to apply a thin layer of nail glue on the back of the jewel. Make sure to apply the glue evenly so it can hold the jewel in place and prevent it from falling off.
Gently place the jewel on the nail, taking care not to dislodge it. Once you’re satisfied with its placement, press down lightly to secure it in place.
Let the glue dry completely. Be sure not to touch or move the jewels while they’re drying, or else they might not adhere properly.
6. Seal with top coat.
After the jewels are firmly in place, seal them with a layer of clear nail polish or top coat. This will further secure the jewels and make them last even longer.
Touch up as needed. Once the top coat has dried, you can go ahead and touch up your nails as usual. If any of the jewels have come loose, simply reapply glue and press them back into place.
With these tips, you’ll be able to apply nail jewels like a pro! So go ahead and experiment with different colors, sizes, and shapes to create your own unique look.
